Portfolio of Works

Small Studies is a collection of works that I paint in anticipation of creating a larger piece, or with the intent of learning something from the process.  They are mostly 6"x8", 8"x10", or 9"x 12".  Small Studies also include most of my plein air works.

In the case of Pine Cone Study, it was my desire to understand the Fibonacci sequence in various aspects of nature.  I have done many small studies of Sunflowers, as those beautiful intricate centers of the flower follow this sequence. 

Most of my studies have sold, but I am always in the process of creating more. 

Stay tuned also for a study of seashells, whose shapes follow the Fibonacci sequence as well!
