Sunflower Mood

I wanted Sunflower Mood to evoke a somewhat "brooding" feeling for the viewer.  I used a darker overall tone and a strong light coming from the left side that really highlighted the flowers. And, I wanted to use two pieces I picked up at an antique shop in Waco, Texas, while on a quick rode trip about a month ago. The small copper bowl and the deep chocolate brown jug each said "buy me and paint me!" I decided to use them together with some very large and heavy sunflowers. These flowers were so difficult to prop up in the jug. Normally I like flowers to turn every which way in a vase, capturing flowers from different angles. Each of these flowers insisted on posing forward! They each wanted to show off, and quite frankly, after I quit fighting with them, I loved the result!
